Archie Eats: La La Cafe

Archie Eats: La La Cafe

Tell me this, who here finds it difficult to find a good restaurant or cafe to spend time in. Time you spend catching up with friends or family, and discuss the latest happenings of your previous week. Being the perfectionist I am, I will stand up and admit that deciding where to eat out isn’t always as simple as I make it out to be. I mean, you want to try new places right? but what happens if the decor isn’t instagram-worthy? what happens if you arrive and dislike majority of the food options provided on the menu? – being quite fussy with my food, this is one of my major faults. Having caught up with two of my best friends last week, we decided to try somewhere new rather than our usual go-to spots within the area. On the agenda for today’s ‘Archie Eats’ is the LaLa Cafe in Parnell, Auckland.

Situated directly across the popular Chocolate Boutique, lies a quaint cafe hidden behind a beautiful large trunked tree (not too sure what type of tree, but it was definitely large). For lunch, Nicole and I opted with the Chicken Sandwich, which included grilled chicken breasts, lettuce, tomato, avocado, basil pesto and Turkish bread served with fries, tomato and aioli sauce on the side. I also grabbed a mixed berry smoothie to drink with Nicole choosing an Iced Coffee.

Lee-May chose the Vegetarian Quesadilla with olives, feta, tomato, basil pesto, capsicum and cheese all melted between two crispy tortillas and served with cream cheese on the side. Lee-May also brought a mixed berry smoothie as well.

Chicken Sandwich: $19.90 | Vegetarian Quesadilla: $21.90 | Iced Coffee: $4.50 | Mixed Berry Smoothie: $7.50

Hi Archie, interest sake the tree is a ‘Norfolk Pine’ 180 years old, it was apparently planted when 20′ tall and had a beacon light on it that was lined up with another similar by the ships coming into the harbour that long ago 🙂 kinda a icon for Parnell. When I get the specifics I will get a plaque made.
